Just a week following our Quantum BioVenture Collaboration Catalyst event, we are thrilled to share some key learnings gleaned from the creative and insightful brainstorming session with participants.

Here are the Top 5 words put forward by participants to describe their vision about the AI-powered paradigm shift in drug discovery:

• Acceleration → AI makes drug discovery much more efficient by all together saving time, money and derisking the process, starting from better target identification
• Disruptive → AI allows comprehensive integration of existing knowledge and hypothesis-free human data-based new approaches to disease biology, bringing about disruptive novelty
• Sustainability → AI enables de novo molecule design thereby decreasing by a factor 50-100 the number of molecules to test during the target-to-hit process
• Sandbox → AI offers an extremely modular playground to test various machine learning algorithms, including open source and SaaS, across several independent datasets to increase the level of confidence in results
• Democratization → AI democratizes disease biology, creating the conditions for more biologists around the world to work on target identification and to advance new therapeutic approaches
